Seto no Hanayome

Seto no Hanayome is a story about Nagasumi who was forced to marry Seto San after discovering that she was a mermaid. According to the mermaid law, if any human saw a mermaid in their 'mermaid form',  the mermaid has to be killed or they have to get married. even by reading you know that it's comedy, it's hardcore comedy to the core ==.

Story:8/10
For its genre, i'd say Seto no hanayome is one of the best. The story isn't complex and most of the episodes are just for comedic purpose so few were involved in the actual plot. all this doesn't matter because the comedy will leave you laughing and wanting for more.

even though it's hardcore comedy, we still get to see the growth of the relationships between the characters. Most of the female characters shows interest in Nagasumi but not to the extent where i would call this a romance anime. The only real romance only goes around between San and Nagasumi.

I liked how in Seto no Hanayome how episode 12/13 is a major part of the story. It makes you feel like this anime is seperated to two parts because after this they introduce a new character(Shiranui) plays an important role towards the story and ending.

episode 12/13 will end with San saving Nagasumi and in the end(episode 25/26), Nagasumi returns the favour by saving San from a perverted fish. these parts of the anime is just awesome, especially the ending. When you read the manga, you'll see that the anime ending doesn't really happen but the ending really feels like a movie, awesome music + action and there's still comedy even  in the serious moments of battle.

Art: 8/10
The art is very sharp and cute, gives you the impression of a comedy anime

Sound: 9/10
the op was funny to begin with. Jokes were made funnier with the sound effects.

Characters:
Nagasumi isn't that special. He's the type of protagonist is forced to accept everything and life. Nagasumi doesn't make most of the comedy, he's more of a medium to channel the comedy. however, you'll get to see him rock in the end.

San's the cute heroine of the story, from appearance to her voice, everything about San is perfect. She resembles the type of good wife any guy would want.

most of the supporting characters are just damn funny specifically - Edomae, Hideyoshi and the fish trio. you have to watch for yourselves to experience the comedy.

Overall: 10/10.
Being a purely comedy anime, I think Seto no Hanayome is the best from all the animes i have watched. every episode was funny and the ending was satisfying. I just can't ask for more.

Anime Vs. manga:
The disappointing part is the manga. When I found out Seto no hanayome's manga is still ongoing, I almost jumped in excitement. First page, and I already lost interest, the art is just too simple. that's not the only bad part, all the new characters in the manga which are not shown in the anime are female and........ lesbians. They seem to show interest only towards San and will do anything to get close to her like a yandere character would. Because of all this, i stick with the anime and stopped reading the manga.
Have fun watching! :)

try watching the op, comedy fans will know this is an awesome anime with just this.

Thailand

Went on a short trip to Thailand. I'd usually won't follow my parents when they travel to a place nearby but this time, because of some circumstances, i had no choice. As expected, Thailand really knows how to treat a tourist by feeding them with top notch entertainment and unique attractions since tourism is a major industry.

Even though i've went to other severl countries' zoos, Songkla Zoo was still kind of fascinating. with just 100bath/person, you get to enter and see all the shows the zoo has to offer. tiger feeding show was just awesome. They feed the tigers with chickens but tease them with the chicken bait to entertain the tourists.
The tigers jump, climb, swim and do all sorts of stuff to get the chicken.

2nd day went to Klong Hae, a place like a night market(starts in the evening till night) but with people selling food in boats by the riverbanks so you could say it's a mini floating market. the price of any food here is cheap, mostly 20 baht and you'd sometimes get a clay pot or cup when you buy certain foods like ice cream or drinks.

stuffs I can't help to realising in this part of Thailand :
-vehicle: there's just so many Toyota Hilux and other truck like vehicle
-hair: Every female student has the same hair, a short bob cut showing the back of the neck
-the looks: some of the people looks somewhat similar to Nickhun from 2pm

Mayo Chiki

Mayo Chiki, a story about a guy who discovers the secret the butler of his school idol, Suzutsuki. the secret was, the butler, konoe is actually a girl. not a pretty-boy like everyone imagined. the reason i watched this anime was because the manga(up to chapter 15) was really good and funny. i planned on reading the manga for a second time but i found out its anime just finished airing so i watched it instead, only to be disappointed by its quality.

Story: 5/10
the story starts off quite well, to prevent Kinjirou from spreading the secret of konoe, Suzutsuki made a solution where she will help Kinjirou get rid of his gynephobia(fear of women) in return for him to shut his mouth about the secret. the characters later on become closer to each other because each of them have their own secret.

like i said, i watched this anime because the manga was good. it turns out the final chapter i read(15) was episode 7 of the anime and also the final episode where i can say it's good. after that, i'll give this anime just a pitiful 4/10 for its story. theres not much to say. all the episodes are like stand alone episodes that has nothing to do with the anime. even if you skipped the whole thing and got to episode 11&12, i doubt i'll affect your understanding towards the the story because all the other episodes has no plot or whatsoever.

for your info, the final episode is the 13th episode is the final episode, and again, this really is just ridiculous. this is the episode on the 'taned-megane' girl. what i'm saying is, episode 11&12 is the real ending. from my point of view, why can't they just make episode 13 into episode 11 and make the ending episode 12&13 instead? or they could even just make it into an ova instead?

saying all that, the comedy isn't that bad. the ending was alright. i just hate to see 12/13 episode animes having ridiculous episodes that could have been replaced with something related to the story line.

Art/Sound: 6/10
nothing special. op was enough to get my attention for two episodes, so i guess it's mediocre.

Character: 8/10
if it weren't for the characters, i wouldv'e given mayo chiki a 5/10. the protagonist wasn't that great. it's your usual rom-com protagonist who's a natural playboy. the character i liked the most is Konoe. when you first watch her, your impression of Konoe will definitely be a tsundere as she was really mad when Kinjirou discovered her secret. it turns out she was just a lonely fellow with no friends. Kinjirou becomes her first friend and crush so she tries to protect their friendship at all costs but at the same time wanting her relationship with him to go beyond friends.

Konoe greatly resembles Koaru(Ladies Versus Butlers) and Chalotte(Infinite Stratos). these kind of character tend to have a double personality due to the fact being forced to cross dress. they show a poised, cool figure to the people other than the one who knows their secret.

Another interesting character is Kanade, a yandere character is a perfect contrast for a gynephobic person. She  uses Kinjirou to return her relationship with Konoe to what it originally was.

Overall: 6/10
i'd only give it a 6/10. it's disappointing to see such a good story that could've been way better gone to waste. it's like good coffee with no sugar in it. -.-

Yakitate Japan

Yakitate Japan is story about azuma kazuma who is a pure genius in making bread + having the 'solar hands' which is a natural helper in making bread making it more delicious. he keeps on making bread through the years after becoming interested in bread and wishes to create the ultimate bread and call it 'Japan'. i'll just get to the point here.

Story:
the story is actually quite simple. on the first episode you get to see kazuma as a kid and he goes to find a job with Panasia Bakery. As soon as the story begins, it's already like a competition. the first bread i guess was to catch the interest of the audience and to show what Yakitate Japan was about. it was just naan but with a weird shape.

as the story continues, he becomes comrade with Kyousuke, tsukino and several others. there's several competition throughout the anime. the best was probably during the international championship. here you get to see how serious bread making really is in this anime ==. the finals was also really just ridiculous but interesting to watch. who would ever knew the deliciousness of a bread could bring people back in time to change history.
this is truly the climax of the whole anime.

after that point, the anime becomes quite boring. there's no excitement af competition or whatsoever. Kai found a girlfriend and finally, kazuma created the ultimate 'Japan'.

Sound/Art: nothing special, really.

Characters:
great. every character is unique in its own way. my favourite character has to be Kuroyanagi Ryo because of how he keeps on over reacting when eating delicious bread. its the best part of any episode. you just want to see how the person will react after eating the bread. for example. eating a dragon shaped bread turns him into Bruce Lee.

the protagonist, Kazuma has a childish personality so he really doesn't feel like the main character except when he finds a way to make a delicious bread. sometimes, it feels like watching from a third person's perspective. but it doesn't matter because this is a comedy, not an action packed anime.

theres also this side-character named kinoshita who's really funny at times. he's the character who gets ignored and works on his own in the bakery everytime all the other characters go into a competition. overall, all the characters where great and distinct from one another.

Overall:
enjoyed it very much. recommended to anyone looking for something not too heavy but with a plot. i wasn't really satisfied with the ending but other parts of the story where just great.

Tora Dora

Tora Dora is one of the most unique anime of its genre. its not your typical rom-com anime.
It's a new school year and Ryuuji Takasu discovers that not only is he in the same class as his best friend, Yuusaku Kitamura, but also Minori Kushieda whom he's had an undisclosed crush on for quite some time. Along with the two of them comes the “Palmtop Tiger”, tiny Taiga Aisaka and Minori's best friend. Despite her small stature, Taiga takes nothing from anybody and is secretly in love with Kitamura. Ryuuji and Taiga, despite their oil and water relationship, agree to mutually support each other in their quests for their hearts' desire.(taken from myanimelist)

its unique thing how its genre changes slowly. When you watch the first episode, you wouldn't think that it would change into a drama with all the funny characters and ost. it starts of by being a comedy anime and ends with drama. with this, it became one of the most successful anime of the year 2009.

Story: 9/10, it deserves this score for its ambition and such. the only thing i wasn't satisfied with is its ending, i really couldn't understand it. what happened? it's the type of story that will suck you in making you want to know whats gonna happen next. especially during the final episodes of Tora Dora where everything starts to become clear of who likes who. I won't spoil the fun but it's kinda funny when the person who starts off with no one liking him eventually gets everyone's attention.

Characters:7/10  the use of small tsundere characters is very famous nowadays with story like zero no tsukaima, hayate no gotoku, shakugan no shana. almost every character is unique in its own way. one character is related to another and you can even call it a love-pentagon. the characters begin to get interesting during the second half of the story. they find out their true feelings and you can see jelousy, honesty, sacrifice, betrayal and such.

music/art: nothing much to say, everage i guess. the only thing is the ost. it'll give you the impression that this anime is a comedy but it's actually gonna turn into a drama.

overall: 8/10, i would give a 9/10 but i just hated the ending. i would recommend this to anyone looking for something out of the ordinary.

i've also read the light novel but for this story, the anime version is better. because it just shows the emotion of the characters very well. like any other anime adapted from a novel, the novel is way more detailed than the anime but its really slow because it takes time to read every single word. The anime gives you this feeling of excitement and rush where you feel like an episode moves by really quickly.

heres a preview, really. just by watching it. you'll think its gonna be like hardcore comedy, don't be fooled :D.

IS(infinite stratos)

this is one of those animes where i think its quite good but others say its not. this is my review of it in myanimelist .

" i don't know why the score for this anime is so low. personally, i think its actually quite good if you see this anime as a harem.

STORY:
theres nothing special about the story in this anime. its just a typical harem with 1 male lead going to an all girls school for IS pilots. obviously, it has a sci-fi feeling to it all the technologies and stuff.
theres no real use for the IS, at first, i imagined this anime would have a theme of war, but its only used for sports. furthermore, only girls can use the IS, theres no other guy for the lead to fight against with his IS.  boy fighting with girls just doesnt feel right. it just doesnt give you that thrilling feeling. thats why i said you need to watch this as a harem, not an action anime.
another thing i was dissappointed in is the ending. this anime is lacking an antagonist. yes, there will be a fight at the ending but they don't even know who or wht theyre fighting against. i just don't get it. theres actually some holes in the story that leaves you wondering. for example, why did people kidnapped orimura when her sister was in the competition. this kind of question with an open answer allows the anime to have a second season. i really think it should have one.

ART:

arts not bad. but i hate it when they fight using the IS. its in 3d. man that just ruins the mood. they only use 2d when theres a close-up on the character. when i said the art was good, im probably saying it because of the design of the art in the anime. it gives off a very modern but not too sci-fi feeling to it. from the rooms to clothing

SOUND:

i should actuallygive a 6for sound but charlotte's sound track urges me to click 7, i feel like im in france -,-

CHARACTERS:

all the cliche characters of a harem anime is here, blondes, childhood friends, tsundere.. u name it. but my personal favourite has got to be charlotte. shes just so cute.

nothing special in the male lead, he's just your everage boy whos dense to the core, talented, kind and so on.

ENJOYMENT:

pretty much enjoyed the show but this seriously needs a second season to make up the mistakes of the first one.
favourite scene: towards the end of episode 8, funny :)"

people say IS is a bad anime. not worth the time. i have to agree that it sucked in a way, especially the graphic. after rewatching it, i found out at bakatsuki its from a light novel and already had 7 volumes.
the novels where quite good. even better than zero no tsukaima i guess. zero no tsukaima gives you a novel feeling but IS realy gives you an anime feeling. probably because of all the sci-fi and harem. but the cons of the novel is that it's really hard to know whats going on during the fight scenes. sometimes, i just read it briefly to get the picture of whos winning/losing. the novel is also 2x more detailed than the anime. some scenes of the anime that took 2minutes could be as long as 20 minutes to read. an example is when ichika visit Ran's house. some lines are repeated, "maybe im just imagining things" i dont know if its a joke or anything but it gets old.

owh yeah, the number of girls in the anime is 5, like in the image above. the number of girls in the novel is 8(for now). besides that, theres slight differences between the novel and anime example:charlotte and laura transfered on the same day in the novel but on different days in the anime.

sorry for my nubish post. XD
